| I was
recently high bidder on an MBZ with CLEAR title, low miles and a number
of items explicitly described as working. After buying an expensive one
way ticket to pick up the vehicle, the seller sends an unknown with an
outdated registration (expired by 3 years) and a form filled out by some
other unknown 3rd party requesting a "lost" replacement title. None of
the paperwork shows the seller's name. The seller offers to try and get
the title replaced but the offices are "closed" when we get there. I
noticed on the way that the odometer did NOT move therefore miles are
totally unknown (pretty obvious), and a couple of the other described
items missing or broken. Needless to say I didn't buy it. Within an hour
the seller has relisted with a 3 day listing (over a holiday weekend)
with Private bidding so buyers can't be warned. My question: Does this
constitute fraud?
