Update On Scammers Using eBay Buyer Protection Program

Greetings Everyone.. :)

I have noticed that scammers are now using  “Amazon” to hawk their VPP Vehicle Purchase Protection Scams.

Furthermore. Let it be known that there is only one eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection plan, and that is provided by eBay for buyers of “some” of the vehicles listed on eBay Motors. Not all Years, Makes, and Models are covered. CLICK HERE FOR THE EBAY VPP FINE PRINT!

READ THIS _*_ READ THIS _*_ READ THIS _*_ READ THIS _*_ READ THIS!

To qualify for this VPP protection you MUST be a REGISTERED eBay Member, and either Officially Win an Auction on eBay Motors, OR through purchasing a Vehicle by clicking the BUY NOW Button on a bonafide eBay Motors Fixed Price BUY NOW Listing! NO Other Transactions Apply!!

I get emails regularly from folks asking about Craigslist eBay VPP details. Now the scammers are using Amazon.com in their scams claiming Amazon holds the money, yada, yada, yada. This is a SCAM!  Neither eBay or Amazon act as escrow agents for sellers. If the VEHICLE PRICE IS DIRT CHEAP – IT’S A SCAM! Plain and Simple!! If you fall for this you will loose your money!

Just Beware These Scams Are VERY REAL And VERY DANGEROUS. If you are not careful you could wind up making payments for years on a vehicle you never received and never owned!

I Have Heard Scammers Are Using This FAUX (FAKE) Chat Room In Amazons Name Too. BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!

ALSO BEWARE OF EBAY MOTORS LISTING REDIRECT SCAMS!

We just got scammed by Andrew Q Leckner. We supposely bought a rv from him. And we called the air force base where he supposely was and there was no such person. And the ebay motor agent address ended up at a honda dealership in florida. So be very careful before you by from ebay or charleston auto sales. Is there anyway to get our money back???

  • Unfortunately you fell for a very common scam. There are warnings all over the Internet about this garden variety of scam.

Chances are your money is in Europe by now, and there is not much of a chance of recovering it if sent by Western Union.

If you sent pmt by a bank wire transfer to an eBay agent it’s possible to prosecute the money mule in the middle, but that will not get your money back if that person no longer has it.

  • so-called military men and women, widowed and,or deployed looking to sell their motorcycles.Everyone of these ads are trying have ebay middle-man the deal. Are there any legitimate businesses that will facilitate an honest purchase?I hope so!!!!

  • Just caught Air Force Msgt. Andrew Q Leckner trying to sell 2007 Stingray Boat. Please be careful do not give out your name, address & Ph# to this person. Its a scam…

  • Greetings Everyone..

There is no Andrew Q Leckner, or anyone else in the Air Force, Army, or any other US Armed Forces that is selling a vehicle at 1/10′th of it’s actual value!

These SCAMMERS are in Europe mostly. In places like Romania and other ex communist countries. Lots of countries harbor these scammers because the cops are on the take.

Save your money! If it’s DIRT CHEAP You Can Bet That 99% Of The Time IT’S A SCAM!

    Wizen Up Folks!!

What if they say they will send you the car and you can inspect it for 5 days without paying. Also he said this “I AM SELLING UNDER THE MARKET’S VALUE BECAUSE I NEED LIQUIDITY IN ORDER TO FINISH THE HOUSE THAT I AM BUILDING.” too good to be true?

  • martin770

No fair Dominic, I can’t belive you beat me on the bid for that car!
    …just kidding…

    YES, THEY ARE ALL SCAMS

I found a car on autotrader website, but I couldn’t actually inspect the car because he kept changing his story about where it was located. He wanted me to pay through “amazon–transaction.com” and “amazontransaction.com” and this “Jose” sounded pretty European on the phone.

  • I like the helpful info you provide in your articles. I’ll bookmark your blog and check again here regularly. I’m quite sure I’ll learn a lot of new stuff right here! Good luck for the next!

  • Air Force Msgt. Andrew Q. Leckner offered to sell me a xlr 05 cadillac for $5800 because he need to finish building his home. Sadly I did give him my address to deliver the car. I was out of town and asked him go send it when I returned. I questioned him about the street legal of the car and at that point he stopped communicating with me. I was leary at the price. He was going to use ebay and give me 5 days to inspect the car. I KNEW IT SOUNDED TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.
    Thanks for the warning.
